You may also just want to pop in a microSD, boot into Windows and do some other non-gaming related tasks. But, there are also many that it can’t and require Windows. SteamOS works well, has a great compatibility layer (Proton) and can run many Windows PC games just fine.

I have certain reasons why I want to use it as a PC, as you may as well. However, the Steam Deck is a PC and as such some are going to want to use it as a full blown Windows PC – even just to take it for a test drive.
